The embodiment of two plots that miraculously survived phylloxera
The Vieilles Vignes Françaises are intimately linked to the history of Champagne Bollinger. Ungrafted, they carry a memory that has almost disappeared: an extraordinary and moving heritage memory, that of pre-phylloxera Champagne. Les Chaudes Terres and Clos St Jacques in Aÿ constitute the legendary plots of Vieilles Vignes Françaises of Maison Bollinger. For this vintage of Vieilles Vignes Françaises, Champagne Bollinger reconnects with the authenticity embodied by these two clos. Sensations
SensationsA bouncing wine year
Intense golden yellow in colour
A very rich and complex palette of aromas blending toasty notes with ginger, almonds, and hazelnuts. Scents of candied pear, stewed apricots and subtle touches of dark chocolate complete this palette. Once it has had time to breathe, wafts of gingerbread round off the tempting nose.
Rounded and very powerful. The mid-palate reveals white stone fruits and yellow fruits, followed by toasty aromas. Candied lemon zest and ginger bring exquisite freshness to this generous ensemble. The finish is beautifully long and elegant – an exceptional wine!
